Spooktacular in Savannah with Julian and Topher

**This scene occurs after About Last Night.

Topher killed the engine outside his boss’s house and looked over me again. “It’s not too late,” he said. “We can go back home.”

I tilted my head and narrowed my eyes. “Are you ashamed of me?”

Topher snorted. “I’ve already shown you off to everyone I work closely with, and they adore you. I’m just not sure about these costumes.”

I gazed over his navy blue jacket, white breeches, and tall black boots. The latter was more for horse riding than capturing pirates on the high seas, but Topher looked smoking hot in them. Damn, the thighs on my man. His costume wasn’t a replica of a Royal Commander’s uniform, but it was close enough, especially with the white wig and tricorne. My pirate costume wasn’t exactly historically correct either. Still, I loved the fit of my black leather pants, billowy white shirt, and black velvet corset trimmed with shimmering black embroidery and leather cords. My boots had stacked heels, giving me a few more inches of height, and I completed my outfit with a black wig and dramatic eyeliner. I thought we looked amazing, but Topher’s misery was etched all over his handsome face.

My heart fell. It had taken a month to make the costumes we agreed upon. Reading my mind, Topher reached over the console and cupped my face. “Baby, the costumes are beautiful, just like their creator. It’s just…” He bit his bottom lip and wiggled a little in his seat. “You look so hot. I mean, your ass in leather pants should be illegal. And my…what did you call them?”

“Breeches.”

“Yeah, okay. My breeches are tight enough to be indecent.”

I glanced down at how the fabric cupped his crotch and started having second thoughts. “I love having quiet nights at home with my man,” I said. “We could always get takeout food and role-play in our costumes. I promise not to make it too hard for you to capture me.”

Topher let out a little groan, and we leaned toward each other at once. Our lips met in the middle, his were soft and yielding for my marauding tongue. I didn’t just dress the part of a pirate; I became one. I slid my hand over the soft fabric covering his muscular thighs, inching closer and closer to the treasure I craved most. Topher gasped into my mouth and pulled back.

“We’re definitely going back home,” he said, straightening in his seat. He let out a little growl. “Damn it. We’ve been spotted.”

I looked toward the house and found Royce Locke and Sawyer Key standing on their porch. They were dressed in seventies fashion and wore the most ridiculous wigs and grins I’d ever seen. “They look like seventies porn stars.”

Topher snorted. “They’re supposed to be the original Starsky and Hutch,” he said.

Royce gestured for us to come in, and Topher sighed. “No getting out of it now.”

“We’ll circulate and say hello, grab some snacks, and maybe have a drink before sneaking back out. Thirty minutes max. It’ll be fine,” I promised. I’d use my fake sword on anyone I caught ogling my man’s delicious package. I moved to open the door, but Topher placed a hand on my forearm.

“Don’t remove a single article of clothing tonight,” Topher said. “I want to do it myself.”

I waggled my eyebrows. “You’ll have to catch me first.”

I loved the way Topher’s eyes darkened and his nostrils flared. “I always get my man.”

I blew him a kiss. “Counting on it.”
